This collection of work, on loan from The New Orleans Museum of Art, features works from the 17th century through the mid-20th century that were spared from the devastating effects of 2005’s Hurricane Katrina. Among the artists represented in the show are Élisabeth Louise Vigée Le Brun, Georgia O’Keeffe, William-Adolphe Bouguereau, and Edgar Degas.

Why do some people have to say such ignorant comments?

Bouguereau painted 826 pieces in his lifetime. His work includes examples of the most beautiful skin, hands and feet ever interpreted in paint. Even the background landscape in his work was executed with mastery.

I caught this show at an earlier venue. Not mentioned is a Gerome and a Sargent in the collection.


This is a stunning piece of art. You should be extremely proud I sure would be! Sanna
