The Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco’s Legion of Honor will host this exhibition of work by master artist Leonardo da Vinci. Organized by the Birmingham Museum of Art, in Alabama, and on loan from the Biblioteca Reale, in Turin, Italy, the show features a select group of 11 drawings, as well as one of the artist’s most celebrated notebooks, the Codex on the Flight of Birds. Dating from about 1480 to 1510, the works represent the most prolific period of Leonardo’s career, and the subjects of his drawings range from fantastical explorations to anatomical studies and preparatory sketches.
