Totally COOL! Very honest painting by a very honest painter. Refreshing to see an everyday subject that others might pass by and not see the beauty in it. Also liked the natural and easy discussion, full of info.
Love these demonstrations that this site is providing; a real gift to artists who love other artist's work and are always looking to learn more. Thanks!
This is a good video, full of useful information for plein air painters. He adjusted and made an interesting painting when the construction crew moved in unexpectedly. I learned a lot in a short time. Thanks for these videos.
As this vid continues, I've read the other comments. Painting. I love it. I normally just try to learn as much as possible from these vid's. I also love my dog! As I go back and reply this vid, I'll always feel for the 3 legged Dalmation shown in the first few seconds! What a beautiful dog. I would have added to the street scene........
Until now most of the plein air videos seem to be directed toward the beginning to intermediate painter. Phil's video addresses points of interest to all levels including advanced and even professionals. And what a great painting. Please try to find more demonstrations like this one. Thanks!
Great job Phil!
Having just been fortunate to paint with Phil for a couple of days on his home turf of New Orleans, I will say that this video perfectly captures his love for painting and his easy going manner and openness to sharing his love and joy for painting.
He's a great guy and is really good at finding painting locations on the 7th floor of parking garages when the skies are unleashing their moisture on the hapless plein air painter.
Thanks AA and Phil.
