Resist Technique

Q: What is a resist technique?

A: The principle of the resist technique is based on the fact that a waxy or oily substance resists water, and a water-based substance will resist oil or wax. One of the most popular ways of using resist technique is applying masking fluid to a surface before working with watermedia, such as watercolor or gouache.
