Academic Artists Association Announces Award Winners
The Academic Artists Association recently held its 57th National Exhibition of Contemporary Realism in Art, at American International College, in Springfield, Massachusetts. The nonprofit organization was founded in 1949 by a small group of artists who met in the studio of Harriet Lumis, an artist and teacher in Springfield, and currently has more than 300 members. Among the artists receiving awards at the exhibition were William Schneider, who received the Pastel Honor Award for Princess; Richard T. LaRoche, who won the Watercolor Honor Award for Loudville Road Horse Barn; Dick Fisher, who won the Oil Honor Award for Autumn Leaves; Steve Wilda, who won the Graphics Honor Award for Past the Destination; and Pati Stajcar, who won the Sculpture Honor Award for Majestic Presents.
