I was just woundering if you ever paint without reference. I never have a problem with painting from life but when it comes to doing something that i don't have reference for the colours don't work together. Is there any way around this problem. How would you approach the painting.

Really liked watching the artist's thinking process on the portrait. Would like to see a list of the palette colors he used on the website somehow or can he forward the list to my e-mail? Dan may be a man of few words but his brush strokes say a lot, great demo! Thanks.

Hi Dan,
Your comment regarding the color key and finding the five big notes has clicked into place another piece of the puzzle re: colorist theory and has helped me coalesce the information I have received on this subject from various sources. I really wish you would come to Toronto and PAINT! Thanks for the online demo!!

Hi Dan,
as Bob Silverman I cannot get any audio... but the visual demo is great. I´m a student at the Escola de Belas Artes (Academy of Beaux Arts) in Rio de Janeiro - Brasil and my dream is to learn from you, here in Rio! Have you ever think about coming to Rio for a workshop... what about considering this to the happiness of the brazilian students?!? obrigada/thanks
