Q: I finished an acrylic painting about two weeks ago. Last week I added some highlights to the piece, and this week I began varnishing the artwork. When I applied the varnish, the paint lifted up in a small area of the painting. What happened? How long should I let a painting dry before I varnish it?
Q: I am just starting to learn how to draw and paint, and I have a limited budget to spend on art materials. Which pastel set would you recommend?
Because chrome is shiny, use strong contrasting values. Although chrome is a cool gray, you will probably use a lot of white for the bright areas. Try using ivory black or Paynes gray for the hard edges and shadows.
