Stretching Watercolor Paper

Stretch or mount watercolor paper to hold the paper in place until your painting is complete. When the paper dries, it will lie flat. If you do not stretch or mount the paper, it will remain buckled once it has dried.

Painting Eggs

Use a variety of paints, such as food coloring, natural pigment colors, commercial egg dyes, and water-based felt-tip pens, directly on the egg. If you use oil paint, coat the egg with a sealant before painting so that the oil does not absorb into the porous eggshell. If you are going to involve children in the painting project, or if you plan to eat the egg at any point, make sure that you use nontoxic materials.
